Studio Tour

My studio is currently a small corner of the farmhouse I call home. Originally built in the 1780’s, our home has been recently renovated and a small sunroom addition was added. One corner of this room is set up as my studio. With a busy household with 3 kids and two parents working from home, it was important to have a space even if it’s small to use as a base for my work.

In many ways the sunroom is an ideal place to paint. It is the brightest room in the house and offers direct view out into the garden. One of the advantages of having a small studio is that I need to be efficient in storage, and access to my supplies. I love my little art cart so that my paint and knives are quickly available but can also be pushed out of the way to keep the space clean. Having a dedicated place to paint has made a huge difference in my productivity as an artist.
